Board of Directors (BoD) Updates and Information
Family Summary of Sep 9 Board Meeting
Families, there is a ton of work going on at RMAE, some that you can see and some that you can’t.  We’d like every family to know that this year we are required to renew our Charter with Jefferson County Public Schools.  One of the main components of the process is to share the school’s great achievements over the last 3 years.  To support this effort, please reach out to the board to submit your own (or your student's) personal highlights from attending this unique school.  We would love to share your story.
Of course RMAE’s current good-news story is the continued campus improvement.  First a huge thanks.  Construction would not be possible without the incredible outpouring of volunteer time and in-kind donations already committed by parents and alumni parents.  Joining the Capital Campaign is the best way to pitch in.  Our goal of $1 million will pay for outfitting The Den’s interior with things like basketball hoops, a stage, and seating.  The Capital Campaign will seek sponsorships, plan events, write grant applications, and more to get the job done.  To assist, email Kelli Anderson at kanderson@rmae.org. or sign up in the RMAE PTO Membership Toolkit app under Board of Directors Advisory Committees.  There’s still time to join this effort, or to go to the same tab to read about and join our other advisory committees.
With October on the way, it’s time for everyone to prepare for Annual Giving.  Remember, this is different from our one-time Capital Campaign to raise significant capital to build The Den.  Rather, Annual Giving asks RMAE families, their employers, and alumni to support our purchase of educational materials across the board.  Charter schools receive the same funding as neighborhood schools, but we have greater expenses such as facility and property maintenance, IT, and other daily services.  Each family’s participation in Annual Giving is critical to our school's success, no matter how much you're able to give.  Your donation has a direct impact on your student’s education.  Look for more information the second week of October.
Finally a reminder.  Having met many of the goals of our last Strategic Plan early, the Board will convene a Strategic Planning session this week.  Please send suggestions for five-year goals regarding Educational Excellence and School and Community Culture to RMAEBoard@rmae.org
