Dear RMAE families,
The progress of the Den continues, and we are on track to having final inspections in May.  Many finishing touches are being completed now.  In addition, the basketball and volleyball court as well as basketball hoops are scheduled to be installed within the next month.   I can’t wait for our students to use this amazing facility!
In addition to the Den, next year we will also have a full time STEAM lab (STEM with arts integration).  This staff is looking forward to having a dedicated space to enhance our current programs and provide additional enriching hands on experiences for our students.

Kindergarten visited Elk Run Assisted Living on Monday for an egg hunt the residents put together and for a story read to them by a former Kindergarten teacher.
5th, 7th and 8th grade students had a guest educator from Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art. 5th grade learned about Natani Notah and her Emancipation of Mia series (she used to be on Land of Lakes products). They selected one or more characters representing products to emancipate by making a collage with them in their own universe. 7th and 8th graders learned about Erica Green, a fiber artist utilizing knot making to create site specific installations. Each class collaborated to make their own fiber piece on a wire armature. Several of the pieces will be on display at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art in the Outreach Education Pop Up Exhibition from May 5-8.
Kindergarten celebrated Earth Day by learning why our planet is so special and all the ways we can protect it!
Lost and Found is overflowing again!

April Core Virtue: Gentleness and Humility
Gentleness is treating others with kind words and mild manner.
Humility is avoiding the temptation to exaggerate our own abilities and underestimate those of others.
