Jeffco Writing Challenge Finalist!
Sixth grader Macie Richards has been chosen as a finalist in the Ninth Annual Jeffco Writing Challenge.  She submitted an essay about how humans and animals rescued each other during the pandemic.
Kindergarten started their journey around the world with the continent of Europe! We started in France where we learned about the Eiffel Tower, famous painters and different styles of art. We then ventured to England where we learned about famous landmarks such as Big Ben, the London bridge, and wondered what it would be like to be a part of the royal family! We ended our European journey with a delicious food tasting and realized that some of our favorite foods come from Europe! Next week we will be off to Asia!

PTO Board Positions for 2022-23

Becoming a member of the PTO Board is a great way to be directly involved in supporting our school, meeting new people, and earning those volunteer hours. Per our By-laws, all positions are open for election each year and are conducted in May. (We especially have a need for nominations for Treasurer.) We have the following nominations thus far:
President – Valerie H.
Co-President –
Vice President – Kim H.
Secretary – Erin M.
Treasurer -
Dir. Communications – Jill J.
Dir. Of Fundraising – Cody K.
Dir. Of Events – Aja C.
If interested in any of these positions or would like more information, please contact the election official, Sonya Sava at fishersava@gmail.com

3 Volunteers Needed – TOMORROW April 19 - for Movies with Teachers

We need three more volunteers to help organize and distribute snacks, get kids to correct rooms, monitor room & hallways, help with pickup. 2:30pm-5:30pm *Given the "all hands-on deck" nature of distributing snacks and dismissal, all volunteers are expected to arrive at 2:30 and stay until the completion of pick up. Late arrivals and early departures create short-handed situations. Thanks for understanding.  Please visit AtoZ to sign-up.

Family Summary of April Board Meeting
The Board of Directors covered a significant amount of business during its April Regular Meeting, such as voting on a healthy FY 2023 budget and planning for required actions in May.  However we hope to call all our families’ attention to two critical items:
1)      The Evergreen Music Festival is partnering with RMAE to make a significant donation to our Capital Campaign in exchange for 50 to 70 volunteers fulfilling two hour shifts on June 25!  How can you help:
a.       Save the date and await more information on this fun community event.
b.       Gather additional friends and family members to volunteer through RMAE, and make sure they save the date too.
c.       Plan on earning bonus volunteer hours that you can apply to either school year!
d.       If you are willing to coordinate the RMAE volunteers, please contact Janelle Herrera at jherrera@rmae.org

2)      Families will have an opportunity to elect their new Parent Representatives to the Board of Directors later this month.  In preparation, a Candidate Forum will be held tomorrow, Tuesday 4/19 at 6:00 pm via Zoom.  We hope you can make it!

April Core Virtue: Gentleness and Humility
Gentleness is treating others with kind words and mild manner.
Humility is avoiding the temptation to exaggerate our own abilities and underestimate those of others.
