Dear RMAE families,
Thank you for joining us last Friday for a fun filled Trunk or Treat event.  It was wonderful to have so many families on campus.  A special appreciation to Jennifer Page, Aja Cary, and Cory Knopf who organized this successful evening, our middle school grilling students for the yummy hotdogs, and our Student Council for a spooktacular haunted hall.
The results of the initial Annual Giving Drive are in.  I am happy to announce to date over half of RMAE families have participated for a total of $93,000!  It was extremely close, but kindergarten barely edged out 5th & 6th grade for the highest participation rate.  Our kinders win a fire truck ride with EFR!
Through the power of your donations, we’ll be able to fund technology in the classroom, staff professional development, curriculum enrichments, facility upgrades, and enhancements for specials classes.  It’s not too late to donate.  With additional family participation we will be able to invest even more into our classrooms.  THANK YOU to all of you who have made donations and those who plan on it.  Together, we’re enriching the educational experience at RMAE.
Your Proud Principal,
Dr. Ann Hudson

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
For more information and to sign up please click this AtoZ link.

Oral Interpretation Program Chair – This is an exciting, new event for our school and we are in need of someone to chair the event. Oral interpretation allows students an opportunity to experience public speaking in a fun environment with their peers through memorization and presentation of short pieces (e.g., poem, monologue).

WARREN MILLER MOVIE SCREENING SAVE-THE-DATE AND HELP REQUEST - We will be screening the new ski and snowboarding movie “Winter Starts Now!” December 17 at the Elks Lodge. This is our largest fundraiser, and we are in need of 2 more volunteers to join our planning committee.

REMINDER TO LOG YOUR VOLUNTEER HOURS – Thanks to so many of you who volunteered your time recently among committees, PAWSS, class parties and/or Trunk or Treat. We appreciate it! Please visit AtoZ to log and get credit for those hours.

Winter Weather Closure and 2-Hour Delay Procedures

As we approach the winter months and the possibility of delayed starts and snow days, we are writing to remind you of our inclement weather policies. RMAE will follow Jeffco Schools for closures and delays.  Jeffco Public Schools rarely takes snow days or implements a delayed start time. We live in an area where snow is typical in the winter and unless the storm is extreme, school will not be cancelled. Parents and guardians can always make the decision to not send their children to school that day if they feel it is unsafe. Our schools are flexible with late arrivals and will always excuse a student absence when called in by a parent or guardian. Click here for more information on Jeffco school inclement weather policies.
