Campus and Classroom Happenings
Teacher Appreciation Week was beyond fantastic!
Door Decorations- Candy- Coffee- Goodie Bags- Clean Cars- Delicious Breakfast- Gifts

I think Brenda Pumphrey, our 5th- 8th Grade Art Teacher, put it perfectly: "Thank you PTO and all the wonderful RMAE families. Teacher appreciation week was wonderful. I felt incredibly appreciated and spoiled. I truly love working with the students at RMAE."

We would like to give a SHOUT OUT to Marni Reinstein, Kendra Graybill, Chris Hass, Jamie Toussaint, Bre Boyle, Whitney Goin, Katie Stone, Dustin Searle and Crystal Kliethermes for washing cars as part of TAW last Thursday!
Helping Harry- 2nd Grade STEM Project. Our goal was to help Harry (the pom-pom ball) see around the classroom, so they had to make the tallest tower that they could using only a few materials!
4th Grade Celebrated Annual Ancient China Day as a culminating activity for their Core Knowledge social studies unit. They had a virtual field trip with Google Expedition to the Great Wall of China, ate lunches with chopsticks, and created several Chinese art projects such as making terracotta warriors with clay, tangram and origami. It was a fun and educational day!
First grade had a mouse family come to visit the classrooms and they left a note for the students introducing themselves.  It appears that they'll be staying in 1st grade between the classrooms for a little while.  Their visit is fortunate since it's time to introduce how to write a letter, and luckily this mouse family seems to like to write letters to the class.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM THE SCHOOL HEALTH ROOM- End of the year medication pick-up 2021

This includes all prescription and over-the counter medications including cough drops, cough syrup, Tylenol, EpiPen, inhaler, and any other injectable medications. If you, as the parent, are not able to come to the school and pick-up the medication, please call your health aide to set up a special arrangement. Board of Directors (BoD) Updates and Information

Board of Directors Announcements
Please join us for our regular meeting this Thursday, May 13 in the RMAE cafeteria at 6:30 PM.  The agenda can be found HERE.
Elections for the RMAE Board of Directors are approaching, and candidate packages are due this Wednesday, May 12.  Please consider running for a 3-year term as a Parent Representative.  For more information including instructions on becoming a candidate, please contact Board Secretary and Parent Representative Janelle Herrera at jherrera@rmae.org.  We welcome interest and involvement from any and all parents of current RMAE students.  However we are particularly hoping to round out the existing Board’s composition with some of the following skills and characteristics: a parent of a middle schooler, an attorney or other legal experience, a parent with involvement in other community organizations, a parent with technology related expertise, and/or a male parent to maintain good balance of perspectives.  Even if this wish list doesn’t describe you, you might still be a great fit, so please reach out to get involved!

Parents and Teachers – ready to be a Star?
The RMAE Board is developing a few short videos to share the wonderful RMAE Culture as well as help educate incoming families on the uniqueness of RMAE.  We just need a few minutes of your time to answer a couple questions on video. Recordings will occur at the schools on Tuesday after pick-up on May 18th and May 25th.  Please sign-up HERE
