October Core Virtues: Self-Control and Self-Discipline

Self-control is stopping to think about my actions before I enact them!

Self-discipline is applying ourselves to our tasks/giving the best of ourselves.

We hope our parents will partner with us and be in regular discussion of our Core Virtues with their students; reinforcing what their student is learning in the classroom and inspiring them to do and be their best.

The second graders had a blast building castles using paper, pencils, and tape during STEM last week!

It's Giving Apple Time!

Donations are starting to arrive at the school! Thank you to all who have already donated!

Each fall, the PTO coordinates a campaign for the staff that allows them to ask for items for their learning spaces that are outside of traditional classroom budgets. This year we are putting these requests in a live document sign up. Click on the link above to open the document and explore ways you can contribute to your students classroom and school. Items will be presented to teachers and staff in mid October.

Our sincerest thanks for participating in our annual Giving Apple campaign.

Every donation is meaningful!

A Message from the Principal

Dear RMAE families,

I am very grateful for all of your encouraging support on behalf of the teachers.  They have been working hard to create a positive learning environment for all our students while navigating unprecedented challenges.  This year more than ever, the staff going above and beyond is the norm rather than the exception.  Your patience and kind words means so much to all of them.  Thank you for your continued acknowledgement of their efforts.  This is yet another example of our wonderful community for which I am fortunate to be a part.

Your Proud Principal,

Dr. Ann Hudson

Volunteer Opportunities

We are searching to see if any of our families have the equipment to cut large trees in half? - Why would we have such an outlandish request? Because we are lucky to have a parent who is working to restore and repair our beautiful amphitheater benches. Unfortunately, several of these benches are beyond repair and we need to make new ones. We have the trees available to us to use but they need to be cut in half to make the benches. Hoping a family might have a large bandsaw or other equipment that might facilitate this project. Please call the office at 303-670-1070 if you can help.

Help on Campus- The Facilities Manager, Mr Wellman, has a couple of volunteer opportunities available around campus- Thank you to the families who volunteered last week to complete those campus projects! This week has beautiful weather in the forecast so come out and get your Vitamin D while helping the school and earning those volunteer hours!  The parking blocks need repositioned and straightened. The crosswalk, foursquare and hopscotch need to be restriped. If you are available to help with either of these tasks please call the office at 303-670-1070 to arrange a time.

Looking for an opportunity to engage further with the school community – families, teachers, staff, BOD and earn all your volunteer hours?  Look no further! The PTO President position provides that and more- This is also a position that can easily be shared with a co-chair. For more information about this fun and fulfilling opportunity, look below in the PTO section.

Parent Teacher Organization News and Information

We continue to be in need of a volunteer or two to fill the vacant PTO President position.  Tiffany Fontaine has taken on a new role at RMAE as the Enrollment Secretary, this exciting move for her has required her to step down as PTO President. Have no fear, since her new position is with the school, she can run but she cannot hide.  She will be available to fully train and support the new president.  This unique year has condensed the number of events and fundraisers the PTO usually puts on for the school community, but this has also provided the perfect opportunity for someone to transition into the role at a manageable pace.  Please contact the PTO at if interested in this exciting opportunity.

The outgoing PTO officers would like to welcome and thank Jill Jachimek, Kate Blaney, Lisa Warren, and Valerie Hartford for volunteering to fill board positions for this school year!

We would also like to welcome the new Classroom Coordinators. These volunteers will be the liaison between the teachers, the PTO and RMAE families. Look for an introduction from your CC soon.
