Social Studies

Hello all,

  Welcome to the new normal! Thanks to all of you who are being sooo patient! We have worked out some bugs but I'm sure there will be more.
  I will record all my sessions and will have the links on my google classroom as well as on this website. 
  This week (3/31-4/3) I would like all my students to attend the live sessions if possible. I will be explaining how things work as well as laying down some ground rules and expectations.
  Here is my schedule for Language Arts and Social Studies.

Tomorrow, 4/1, is a zoom session for Language Arts. If possible I would like everyone to attend live. Here is the info:

Persuasive essay is due, THURSDAY 1/30. Students will work on this in class but may need to finish the essay at home. Refer to the Persuasion Essay Rubric (above in red) for how I'm going to grade this essay.

Here is more info on the persuasive essay due tomorrow, 1/30. The purpose of this essay is to choose one Enlightenment Thinker and persuade the audience (Mrs. Bartelt and classmates) that your thinker was the most influential during this time period. graphic organizer for the Persuasive essay.pdf    This is not the same organizer we used in class but it has all the necessary info.

Your student also needs to include the following info:

  -Hook, 2 sentence summary of the Enlightenment period and thesis statement (3 strong reasons why your thinker was the most influential)
3 Body Paragraphs
  - restate opinion, summarize 3 reasons
