Hi Parents,

We had a great week this week and I’m very proud of all the students’ hard work.  We’ve been working on writing throughout the year and I’m very impressed with their progress on writing solid paragraphs.  We have a fun event coming up in April, and we’ve already started working on it. The Young Writer’s Conference is an excellent opportunity for our students to engage in the writing process, and show off their talent.  This year the event will be held at Marshdale Elementary. Please see the attachment for more information. In 1st grade, we decided that we’ll have the students create their own Book of Virtues based on our monthly Core Virtue words.  We’ve been working on writing paragraphs, and the students will write a paragraph for each Core Virtue word we’ve had this year. I’m very excited to see their finished books, but it will take us probably the month of March to work on them in class.  We’re asking for the students to complete a Dedication page, and About the Author page at home. Later in March I’ll send home a template for the students to use to complete these two pages with you.

Please check out my DonorsChose fundraiser for a Google Expeditions Kit for the school to use next year.  Please feel free to share this page with anyone you feel might be interested in donating!
