6th - Cipielewski

Hi!  I'm Kristen Cipielewski, but my students call me Ms. Chip!

I am very excited to start the 2020 year off as the Grade 6 Social Studies and Language Arts Teacher!  Originally I am from Detroit, but went to school for Elementary Education at the University of Utah.  Shortly after I graduated I started my International Teaching career.  I taught for two years at a school in La Guajira, Colombia where I taught 6th - 9th grade ELA and ESL.  After these two years I went to Medellin, Colombia where I taught 3rd grade for three years.  I also received my Master's in Multidisciplinary studies in my time in Medellin.   I had the travel bug in me for sure and decided to try to head to Asia.  I got a job at the American International School of Dhaka, Bangladesh and taught 2nd grade for five years and then went to Middle School to teach Humanities and EAL (English as Additional Language).  My last stop overseas took me to Guangzhou, China where I taught 3rd grade my first year and was the Middle School Humanities and Language Arts teacher, as well as the Special Education Coordinator my second year.

I landed in Evergreen after my 15 years overseas because I bought my small mountain house here back in 2014 when I wanted to have a little vacation home to go back to.  I decided to come back to the US with my son and my husband who immigrated from Bangladesh to live near family and to give my son the experience of living in the US.  I taught Kindergarten here at RMAE last year and now I am very happy to be back in the Middle School as there is really no where else I would rather be!
