3rd - Prouty

        Updates: Week of Nov 16-20

  •   In social studies we are studying Vikings
  •   In science we are studying Life Cycles and Traits

Dates to remember:

* No school the week of Thanksgiving

Happy Friday!

A few things we need to know for remote learning after break:

*I have had all students in class this week learn how to log in to the online Wit and Wisdom website. They know where to find the link to get on and how to interact with the online aspect.

*Jill (Jamie’s mom) made an Amazing Navigating Wit and Wisdom online page that I have posted to Google classroom. It shows you how to navigate the site and how to turn Handout pages in so I can check them.

*I expect students to turn in Handout pages if they are assigned with the video for that day. Some videos do not have Handout pages so they will not need to turn anything in that day.

* Fluency Homework and Reading Logs will be turned in on Google Classroom.

*Please check the remote plan daily to see what lessons/ times we are zooming that day.

***** Expect an email from me the week after break with MAP testing information.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Wit and Wisdom:

We are now studying space. Mainly working with why Galileo studied the stars and putting events in chronological order, writing conclusion paragraphs, and finding the essential meaning of a text. We will be moving into our next arc which is how did the astronauts on Apollo 11 learn about space.

Math:

We finished chapter 4 is multiplication facts and strategies. Chapter 5 is developing a concept of whole number operations.

Science:

Our next unit we will start next week is life cycles and traits. Students will learn about the life cycle of plants and animals. They will also learn about different traits within populations and species. As well as environmental and survival traits.

Social Studies:

We are starting our Viking unit. Learning about Viking myths and reading some as well. Students will learn about Eric the Red, where the Vikings explored and what they were best at. One talent being master ship builders among many others.
